Van Eck proudly received Logistic Innovation Silver Award in category Zero Emission Logistics presented by ALICE (Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe) in the closing ceremony of BOOSTLOG project held in Brussels on 20th December 2023.
ALICE is the European Technology Platform in goal of developing research, innovation, and market deployment of logistics and supply chain management innovation in Europe. ALICE is set-up for collaboration of both shippers and logistic service providers addressing supply chain efficiency in a wholistic manner, advancing both innovation and its deployment.
Van Eck has been recognized with the Silver Award for Zero Emission Logistics for its contribution to European Commission Backed Transformers and Aeroflex projects.
For Transformers project,, Van Eck collaboratively developed aerodynamically optimized curtainsider trailer, equipped with an electric roof height adjuster, a load volume sensor, and a double floor system. The load-optimized trailer’s roof can be lowered for less aerodynamic drag in cases where the trailer reaches its permissible weight but not the full volume.
For Aeroflex project Van Eck lead the teams for further developing the aerodynamic properties of trailers to include their application in A-Double combination (super eco combi) and two trailer LHV combinations. The aerodynamically optimized A-Double Aeroflex trailer prototype is manufactured by Van Eck.
Furthermore, Van Eck’s other ground breaking contribution to Aeroflex is the development and prototype manufacturing of the e-dolly with an electric motor where the energy is recuperated from breaking energy and feedback to the motor.
Receiving the award for Van Eck, Head of R&D Ton Bertens is recognized by his invaluable contribution to advancing trailer industry for the sustainable future goal.
